Patrick Bremer was born in Brighton in 1982. He studied painting at Wimbledon College of Art in London. He has been part of the Maze Studio collective since September 2007, more recently the Avalaan Familia. The figure is always central to his work as is control of the viewer, from his oversized and distorted graphite drawings through to the recent portraiture. In 2007 he won the silver medal (DeLazlo Foundation Award - best portrait by an artist aged 25 and under) at The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition at The Mall Galleries in London. Patrick lives and works in Brighton, UK. Who are you and what are you about? I grew up skating and doodling with Amit but whereas he then went to train to be a proper person I went to art school in Wimbledon, London . Since graduating I have moved back down to Brighton where I work in a studio painting. On the side I help run a pub in the town which gives me some fine examples of the aging, drunk end of Brighton 's demographic – perfect models for a portrait. Buy them a pint and they'll let you draw them… How old are you? 24 What sports do you do in the summer and winter? I just bought a new bicycle. What music is on your IPOD? From Maiden to Danzig to Cramps to The The. How do you like to chill when you have some time off? With a Cornetto? What does Avalaan mean to you? Free stickers.
